Sulebrity Persians, home of solids, tortoiseshells, tabbies and smokes, extends you a warm welcome. Our names are Marianne and Mont Sullivan. We work to develop affectionate, beautiful show quality Persians. I am a member of CFA Persian Breed Council and show exclusively in CFA. We have a breeder's license from the state of Kansas, and our cattery is inspected twice a year by the Kansas Animal Health Department and once a year by our local vet.
We are located on the windswept High Plains of southwest Kansas in the small, friendly town of Ulysses. We are close to both the world's largest feedlot and the world's largest beef packing plant (an amazing coincidence.) The area abounds with sunflowers, meadowlarks, tumbleweeds and lots of wide open sky.
I've been a middle school remedial reading teacher for 25 years. My
husband retired from raising cattle, but still farms and works part time at a local bank. We've had a good life so far, raising our family and working.
I've loved cats all my life. When the youngest of our three children left for college in 1998, I decided to look for outstanding cats to use in a breeding program. I selected Persians because of their beautiful eyes and long, silky fur. Now that I've had a chance to work with this breed, I would pick them because of their sweet and affectionate nature.
We were lucky to find breeders, Earl and Gail Rothman of Le Club Fur, who were willing to help beginners like us. Earl and Gail gave us invaluable help, as did Sue Shellabargar of Montesol and Carissa and Janet Altschul of Cacao, as well as the other breeders who shared their cats and expertise with us. We have found cat breeders to be very friendly and helpful people. We are indebted to them all.
Our cats have come from Boberan, Cacao, Joleigh, Pajean, Pitty Patty and Tanglebox. We are also awaiting a kitten from Posh Persians. In addition, the parents of these cats come from Afi, Caliente, Cat Charm, Chez Mana, Dalu, Paquita, and Sublime . As you can see, we have a wonderful selection of top lines with which to work. We are a DNA PKD aware cattery.
